ABOUT THERESA SCOUT
Theresa Scout is a 1998 graduate of Lake Erie College with a B.A. in Business Administration and Equestrian Teacher/Trainer. She has been an active equestrian since she was ten years old. While at Lake Erie College Theresa competed in hunter, jumper, and dressage shows. After graduation she worked for nationally renowned dressage trainer Nancy Smith. Nancy has studied under some of the most well known dressage instructors such as Herbert Rehbein, Robert Dover, Michael Poulin and Klaus Balkenhol. Nancy was the alternate for the United States Equestrian Team for the Pan American Games in 1999. Theresa rode horses with Nancy from training level through Grand Prix dressage and competed several horses to fourth level.
Following her work with Nancy, Theresa was employed in California at a Hanoverian breeding farm, Campbellot Farm. She was responsible for starting young horses, competing them at hunter, jumper and dressage shows as well as presenting them to prospective clients.
Theresa has been at Maypine Farm since 2004. She started at Maypine Farm as the barn manager and assistant trainer. She has been training with Lauren Bass and assisting her with her Grand Prix jumpers and client horses. Theresa’s exceptional dressage background, hunt seat experience, horsemanship skills, and executive abilities make her a unique asset to Maypine Farm.
