About The Maypine IEA Team

In 2013, our inaugural year in Interscholastic Equestrian Association competition, the Maypine Middle School Team rode all the way to the win at the IEA National Finals in Syracuse, NY. The Maypine Team took Nationals by storm, beating out many seasoned teams for the Championship. In addition to the National Team Title, Maypine riders took home the Individual Over Fences championship,  fifth overall in the written Horsemanship Test, and won the raffle for a new saddle given away by IEA Nationals Sponsor Dover Saddlery.

Maypine is proud to field both a Middle School (grades 6th-8th) and a High School (grades 9th-12th) IEA team for the 2014-2015 competition year. Co-coached by Maypine Instructor Valerie Davis and Lesson Program Director Bernie Villeneuve, our teams are made up of students showing for the first time to seasoned competitors. Students are not required to own their own horses in order to ride on the team and practices are offered several times a week. We also offer a Development Team that gives students in 5th grade an opportunity to practice as part of the team, and attend shows as volunteers & spectators.
